Mary Lee-McDonald, a Kansas-based artist, explores a variety of mediums with a focus on texture, vibrant color, and the love language that music conveys. Media include painting, sculpture, and mosaic. Her work often features a variation of glass and ceramic tesserae and a strong emphasis in mosaic painting, anchored in nature and figurative themes. Striving to balance self-expression, with the hope of opening the door for an intimate connection that engages the viewer. Mary’s work has been featured in both private and public collections, and she is currently a member artist at the Carriage Factory Art Gallery. In 2000, she received recognition for her gallery work as director of the year at the Kenneth Behm Art Galleries, Seattle, WA, and KAEA 2023-2024 Art Enhancer of the year, Emporia, KS. Currently, she is developing a new series of mosaic work to build an inventory for more exhibits and large installation opportunities.
